Frequently Asked Questions

Will I go into an office?

These roles are aligned to a hybrid work model under our dynamic work policy: 4 in-office days (Monday-Thursday). We have seen the many benefits in-office work and collaboration can have on learning, engagement, and productivity, particularly for our Sales Development and Business Development team members who are earlier in their careers.

Will I have Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)?

Yes, you will carry a quota that you are responsible for each month.

What is the commission structure?

Our BDR and SDR compensation comprises a base salary and commissions. BDRs and SDRs earn commissions by setting up meetings and finding initial deals for the sales teams. To encourage exceeding goals, BDRs and SDRs receive increased commission rates ("accelerators") as they consistently surpass targets.

Will there be training when I join the team?

Yes. The Sales Enablement team works with your managers. We have Ramp months where you will work up to your quota and you’re assigned a Ramp buddy to help you while you are starting out.

What is the office dress code?

No specific dress code, but most Oktanauts (Okta employees) tend to wear business casual.

How can I best prepare for an interview?

Preparation is key to showing off your best, most confident self! First, we recommend you carefully review the job description, and get ready to demonstrate how your skills and experiences tie back to the qualifications for the role. Our hiring teams want to hear about real-life situations and may ask questions that are behavioral, competency-based, or situational. We also encourage you to have a foundational understanding of our business.
